Day 1 - Sunday:

Meet at Lisbon airport (fee not included) and travel through a variation of landscapes to our destination – “Herdade do Pessegueiro”. Here you will meet the family, the guide, the rooms and of course, the horses that are stabled here.

At dinner, with the amazing sunset over the “Ilha do Pessegueiro” Island, your host will go over the week's program and talk about individual preferences as to what sort of horse they would like to ride.

Day 2 - Monday:

Nothing like starting your first day with a breakfast in front of the sea.

After being introduced to your friends for the rest of the week – the horses - we begin the trail going north through the small fishing village of “Porto Covo”, following the cliff tops from where we can we see the many small beautiful beaches that line the coast.

Then the terrain is flat and soft, amazing for long and enjoyable canters before entering the cork oak forest where we have a long lunch near the ”Morgavel” dam. During the tranquil time after lunch and during which the horses have a nice rest, we can have a refreshing swim.

Afterward, we ride along the long meandering trail through the “Gaio valley” filled with tall ferns and many species of wild flowers, remembering an old forest that once filled the area.

Reaching the old windmill where flour used to be made, you will enjoy seeing the horses rolling and getting ready to overnight.

Day 3 – Tuesday:

Starting from the windmill we ride through the “Sela Vermalha Valley” where we pass the to the ridge of “Cercal”, where we have a spectacular view in all directions of the region.

We have lunch next to the small creek shaded by the overhanging poplar trees.

Afterwards we go to the rich green rocky “Roncão valley” and we canter inland through Eucalyptus and cork oak forests.

Day 4 - Wednesday:

Today, we ride south through the “Godins valley” until we reach the “Ribeira da Azenha” plain with sandy tracks leading through the pine and eucalyptus tree forests. Then we pass close to “Milfontes” and cross over the Mira River where we lunch in the pine tree forest near the riverbank.

In the afternoon we continue riding through the pine forest to the small village of “Almograve” where we finish the days trail and stable the horses.

Day 5 - Thursday:

From “Almograve” we ride in the direction of the coast where we reach the spectacular cliff tops of “Cabo Sardão”, here we have lunch and enjoying the stunning view of the Alentejo coastline.

In the afternoon we ride along the cliffs where storks can be seen nesting and then continue on to ride over the rolling sand dunes of “Almograve”.

We then return to “Almograve” to stable the horses and afterwards we can travel to “Milfontes” to enjoy a drink in the town.

Day 6 - Friday:

From “Almograve” we ride along a farm track until we reach the sand dunes and the sea.
We then cross over the Mira River and ride through the town of “Milfontes”.

After lunch we ride up the coast and then cross over the coastal plain to reach the farm, where we leave the horses and go to the restaurant for the final evenings dinner.

Day 7 - Saturday:

After breakfast we transfer to the airport (fee not included).

NOTE: The trail can be changed according to weather conditions or other special conditions.
