Spain’s Heart of Andalusia Trail Ride

Day 1: Arrival (Sunday)

Arrive and settle into your hotel—a former royal palace—in medieval Carmona. Complimentary train station pick-up in Seville is available at 16:30 (other transfer times/days available upon request). Enjoy a welcome dinner at the hotel with your Epona hosts and fellow riders to kick off the week, followed by a relaxing evening.

Day 2: Sevillian Countryside & Hospitable Haciendas

After breakfast, transfer to the Epona Equestrian Centre. Following a guide chat and an assessment ride through tranquil rolling farmland, olive groves, and 16th-century haciendas, return to the center for home-cooked lunch. In the afternoon, take a complimentary transfer to sightsee or shop in Seville, or rest up at the hotel for the adventures ahead.

Day 3: Quema River & Aznalcóllar Forest

Drive early to Villamanrique, meet your horses, and do a quick arena test ride before setting off into the open country. Cross the historic Quema River—a sacred pilgrim site—and ride through the vast Aznalcóllar pine forests and Mediterranean scrubland, home to nesting storks and eagles. Enjoy a traditional local lunch at a famous venta, then ride back to Villamanrique. Stay at the cozy, thatched-roof Ardea Purpurea lodge, featuring a Michelin-recommended restaurant for dinner.

Day 4: The Pilgrims' Path to El Rocío

Ride the restricted sandy tracks of the Raya Real (Royal Strip) through the protected Doñana wildlife preserve. Pass pine/eucalyptus woods, aromatic thickets, and stop for a picnic at the 13th-century Royal Palace estate. Continue through oak pastures where you may spot deer, wild boar, or the Iberian lynx. Cross the Ajolí Bridge into the unique village of El Rocío, visit the vibrant marshlands, and enjoy a traditional glass of wine on horseback before checking into a marsh-view hotel for dinner.

Day 5: El Rocío to the Beaches of Doñana

Ride south into Huelva province, passing the Rociana lagoon and scenic habitats filled with wild horses and deer. Stop for a country lunch paired with regional Doñana wines. Finish the ride at the virgin beaches of Mazagón and check into its luxurious seaside Parador hotel (featuring indoor/outdoor pools and a spa). Join the group and guides for dinner at the Parador.

Day 6: Dunes & Virgin Beaches

Embark on a spectacular 3-hour half-day ride across the European fossil and mobile dunes of Asperillo. Take in Atlantic Ocean vistas from atop the dunes before descending to the virgin beaches for an exhilarating beach canter along the waves. Say goodbye to the horses and enjoy a seaside lunch in the fishing village of Mazagón. Transfer back to Carmona for a relaxing afternoon by the hotel pool, exploring town, or getting a massage, followed by dinner at the hotel.

Day 7: Departure (Saturday)

Enjoy breakfast, followed by complimentary transfers to the Seville airport or train station at 8:00 and 11:00 (private taxis can be arranged for other times).
