Ride Overview
Trade the ordinary for the unforgettable on a horseback safari across Kenya’s breathtaking Laikipia Plateau—where untamed wilderness meets refined luxury. This immersive journey weaves together exhilarating riding through the vast, wildlife-rich landscapes of Lolldaiga Conservancy with the warm, elevated hospitality of Sirai House on Borana Conservancy.
At the heart of the experience are the exceptional horses of Sirai Stud—one of East Africa’s most respected breeding programs. Drawing from carefully selected international bloodlines, these horses are celebrated for their strength, stamina, and steady temperament—ideal companions for traversing open plains, winding through forests, and riding among iconic African wildlife.
Each rider is thoughtfully paired with a beautifully schooled horse matched to their ability and style, creating a seamless and deeply personal connection to both horse and landscape. With just 6–8 riders per departure (up to 4 non riders also welcome), this is an intimate, highly curated experience that blends world-class riding, extraordinary wildlife encounters, and the rare privilege of staying in one of Kenya’s most exceptional private homes.
Designed for confident intermediate to advanced riders, this journey also welcomes non-riders, who can enjoy daily game drives and the full richness of the safari experience.
This is not just a trip—it’s Africa, experienced at a gallop.

Day 1: Flight to Lolldaiga Hills
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi, guests are met at terminal 1 around 7:30AM to be escorted directly to their private charter aircraft for the flight to Lolldaiga.
After a scenic flight over Kenya's central highlands and lovely views of Mount Kenya, you will land at the private airstrip at Lolldaiga Conservancy and transfer to Lolldaiga House, a well appointed house set high in the hills with panoramic views across the conservancy. Your guide for the week will welcome you along with a refreshing beverage and briefing over breakfast.
After a chance to settle in, unpack and don riding apparel, you will be introduced to the exceptional horses for the week, all of whom are chosen to best match each person's experience and riding preference. All are very responsive and fun. Once all are matched up, you'll enjoy your first ride across the conservancy, moving quietly through open plains and acacia woodland where wildlife such as zebra giraffe and antelope freely roam, before returning to Lolldaiga House for sundowners overlooking the hills prior to dinner.
Day 2: Riding Across Lolldaiga Conservancy
Begin the day with a morning ride exploring the spectacular landscapes of Lolldaiga Conservancy. With more than 45,000 acres of rolling hills, open plains and forest, the conservancy offers exceptional riding terrain and sweeping views across Laikipia.
The ride may include scenic trails through woodland or exhilarating canters across open grasslands. Return to Lolldaiga House for lunch followed by a relaxed afternoon to enjoy the house and its surroundings.
Spend your afternoon unwinding by the swimming pool, strolling through the gardens and terraces or simply relax on the lawn or any common space while you take in the sweeping views just ahead of you.
Enjoy a lovely dinner before retiring for the night.
Day 3: Ride from Lolldaiga to Borana Conservancy
After breakfast you'll set out on horseback for a memorable ride across the Laikipia landscape from Lolldaiga Conservancy to Borana Conservancy.
Riding across the open plains and rolling hills, this journey offers spectacular views across the Laikipia Plateau with Mount Kenya rising in the distance. Wildlife sightings are common along the way as riders move quietly (even inside voices carry) through the landscape.
Arrive to Sirai House, one of Kenya's most extraordinary private homes, set on a 250 acre private estate within Borana Conservancy - an incredible and truly exclusive experience.
Lunch is served at the house followed by a relaxed afternoon to enjoy the facilities of the house. You may choose to unwind by the heated pool, enjoy a spa treatment, spend time in the cinema or learning snooker or just relax on the terrace overlooking the plains and the waterhole where game often wander and refresh themselves.
Sundowners and dinner await you again this evening.
Day 4: Riding Through Ngare Ndare Forest
Today's ride winds through the beautiful Ngare Ndare forest, an indigenous forest corridor at the foothills of Mount Kenya. Riding beneath the forest canopy is a striking contrast to the open plains. It is rich in birdlife and often home to elephant and colobus monkeys, creating a peaceful and immersive riding experience.
Leaving the forest, enjoy a fun gallop across the plain enroute to the stud. On arrival to the stud your horse will be whisked away by a syce (groom) while you enjoy a private viewing of the broodmares and young stock, gaining insight into the breeding philosophy behind this exceptional string of horses, before enjoying breakfast overlooking the paddocks.
Return by vehicle to Sirai House for a well earned rest before lunch and another relaxing afternoon - note, game drives can be arranged on any afternoon of the program.
Sundowners and dinner.
Day 5: Riding Across Borana Conservancy
Today, you'll explore the sweeping plains of Borana Conservancy, offering exciting opportunities to canter across open ground while taking in the spectacular scenery and wildlife of the conservancy before arriving to a wonderful bush breakfast beneath the acacia tree, a truly memorable moment and space......
After breakfast, guests may choose to ride back or return by vehicle while the horses are taken back by the team.
This last afternoon at the House is perfect to enjoy a massage, strike up a pickle ball game or just float in the pool before one last sundowner and dinner.
Day 6: Departure to Nairobi
After breakfast transfer to the Borana airstrip for the private charter flight back to Nairobi.
