Ride Overview
Exmoor, located southwest of London is home to heather covered rugged rolling hills giving way to dramatic coastal views of the wild Atlantic. It is also home to Exmoor National Park and the Exmoor pony, many wild ones of which are seen during your daily rides.
Your base for the week is Higher Chilcott Farm, a lovingly restored and maintained farm by your host John Bullman. The two cottages onsite are offer riders a comfortable apartment type accommodation to relax in when not riding and exploring the rugged and beautiful moors. This is the countryside of Heathcliff and you can almost see him coming toward you through the mist of dawn or dusk – it is a magical and spectacular area.
Choose any number of days of riding, prices range from $395.00 (300£) per person per day and includes self catering lodging and riding (2 person minimum, or singles welcome for a fee). All levels of rider are welcome.

Generally, there is no scripted itinerary as rides are customized based on ability and length of stay. We will endeavor to provide a suggested itinerary when you book so you may have a fun time dreaming about riding in this verdant countryside.
That said, the following reflects our 2 night/3 day break to give you an idea.
NOTE: You must be fit and able to ride at intermediate to advanced level and be able to canter confidently in open spaces on different horses. For the welfare of the horses we have a strict 14 stone weight limit.
Friday
Arrive at 2pm. 1 hour Exmoor forest welcome ride.
Saturday
An all day Safari Day Ride along the Barle Valley, up to the rugged moorlands with breathtaking views, with possible sightings of red deer and wild Exmoor ponies.
Stopping for a pub lunch before returning to the farm to unwind with a home cooked three-course evening meal.
Sunday
A 3 hour ride through winding wooded river valleys and unspoilt natural wonders. It's pure magic!
We have partnered with a local 4-Star hotel to offer your group exclusive access to their beautiful Moroccan-themed spa, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room followed by a delicious afternoon tea with a glass of bubbly – available as an optional-add on to your stay (£35).
